Description

A bespoke digital portfolio designed and developed for Victoria Chen, an architectural graduate whose work celebrates physical engagement with materials and craftsmanship. The objective was to create a minimalist, refined platform that translates her tactile approach into a digital space, allowing her detailed physical models and architectural drawings to take center stage.

The design takes subtle cues from architectural drafting conventions. Crisp, monospace typography is used to structure project metadata—such as typologies, locations, and project briefs—creating a clean, organised hierarchy that feels familiar to the architectural discipline. By utilising an abundance of negative space and a neutral colour palette, the interface acts as a quiet gallery wall. This ensures that the rich visual narratives of her projects, like A Secret Rendezvous and Interlacing Threads, remain the primary focus. A bold, oversized typographic footer grounds the site and provides clear contact and social touchpoints.

The platform was built with a focus on performance, scalability, and ease of content management:

  • Frontend: Developed with Next.js and styled using Tailwind CSS to ensure a highly responsive, fluid user experience across all devices.

  • Backend/CMS: Integrated with Sanity.io as a headless CMS. This provides a customised, intuitive dashboard, allowing for effortless, ongoing management of project galleries, text descriptions, and metadata without needing to touch the codebase.
